Interesting details about Margaret Mitchell’s novel, Gone with the Wind and the legendary Hollywood film it inspired will be revealed on Thursday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Program Room of the Woods Branch of the Grosse Pointe Library located at 20680 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library and Grosse Pointe Theatre present a fascinating evening of facts and trivia for all fans of the Civil War classic. There is no charge for the program and the public is welcome. Kathleen Marcaccio, known as the “Gone With The Wind†Answer Lady will offer an inside look at author Margaret Mitchell and her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Learn about the author’s life after her novel became a runaway best seller and a blockbuster movie. Ms. Marcaccio will also provide a display of Gone With The Wind memorabilia. Mike Trudel, director of the upcoming Grosse Pointe Theatre production of Moonlight and Magnolias will give background information on the play, written by Ron Hutchinson, about actual events in 1939 when producer David O. Selznick shut down filming of Gone with the Wind. The director was fired and the script re-written. Mr. Trudel will talk about the events on which the play is based, and actors from Grosse Pointe Theatre will perform scenes from the production
