Assumption GreekFest Returns – August 15-18

           A Special Summer Happening!

 ST CLAIR SHORES/GROSSE POINTES, MI – Assumption Cultural Center’s GreekFest is the perfect annual summertime four-day, fun-filled event for the entire family. With authentic Greek food, entertainment and culture, GreekFest is an annual event that typically draws more than 12,000 people from throughout the metro Detroit area over the four-day weekend. This year’s GreekFest kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 15, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 18. Festival-goers will enjoy live entertainment, delicious Greek food and pastries, Taverna featuring Atwater Brewery, exciting marketplace shopping, tours of church iconography, kids’ tent and rides, surprise celebrities, and much more!

 The Grand Opening ceremony takes place on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Dignitaries will be recognized at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. By popular demand, the music of Enigma will delight the crowds with Niko as popular vocalist. Assumption dance groups will provide colorful entertainment all weekend, including the Hellenic Society for the Performing Arts, with costumes and dances from the regions of Greece.  Open dancing follows with Assumption Dancers teaching the easy steps of Greek dancing throughout the weekend – audience participation is welcomed!

Detroit Historical Museum preview of Lindell AC and Hellenic Museum of Michigan Greektown History exhibits will be presented in Hellenic Room!
