Wild Birds Unlimited, Fall Bird Walks at the Ford House
1100 Lake Shore Rd
Grosse Pointe Shores
Event Description: Many species of birds call the Ford estate home, plus many migrating birds stop by these woods, gardens and lakefront while on their way back to warmer climates.
Join Wild Birds Unlimited, Grosse Pointe Woods store owner, Rosann Kolvacik, Bill Rapai of Grosse Pointe Audubon, and the rest of the crew, as they explore the grounds. Each group generally sees dozens of species, and every walk is different!
Don’t forget to wear multiple layers, dress for the weather, and bring binoculars if you have them (some will be available for checkout at Ford House). Wear waterproof shoes as you’ll be trekking all over the Ford House grounds. Most walks cover 1-3 miles at a steady but casual pace, across mixed terrain.
Walks are held regardless of rain or shine. Please include all contact information – including your phone number – while registering so that we may let you know of any changes in case of extremely inclement weather.
Cost is $5. Advance registration is required and is online only. Space is limited.
