Wild Birds Unlimited, Grosse Pointe Woods – Michigan Purple Martin Friends
Come to Wild Birds Unlimited on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods for an in-store presentation on Purple Martins, the largest member of the swallow family, and a bird species desperately in need of our help. This species is declining in number, especially throughout the Great Lakes region, and that decline is thought to be a result of a shortage of nest cavities and of aerial insects these birds depend on for food.
Learn what you can do to attract Purple Martins and effectively manage a colony. While helping these native songbirds, your reward will be to ensure their success and to enjoy their chick-rearing routines, their flying expertise, and their bubbly, cheerful twitters.
This presentation will be given in-store by Linnea Rowse, Conservation Program Coordinator for Michigan Audubon. To sign up for this FREE program, please CALL OR STOP BY TO RSVP AS SPACE IS LIMITED.
